Scientific presentation of Stella Kalaitzopoulou at the XIth EMCA Conference in Palma de Mallorca, Spain

Stella Kalaitzopoulou, Director of Mosquito Control Projects of Ecodevelopment, made a presentation on “The importance of data collection and processing in mosquito control programmes” at the recent XIth Conference of the European Mosquito Control Association (EMCA) in Palma de Mallorca, Spain (07-10/11/2023). This presentation is the result of a collective effort and concerns a part of all the valuable field data collected for years by Ecodevelopment.

It presented entomological indicators that were used in practice for the first time in 2023 and proved to be very useful for decision making in the large-scale mosquito control projects carried out by Ecodevelopment. Thus, examples were given from the mosquito control project of the Region of Central Macedonia and the Region of Thessaly, after the occurrence of the weather phenomenon “Daniel”.
