Mr. Christos Karydas, Director of the Precision Agriculture Department of OIKONAPTYXIS, is going to speak at the 2nd Panhellenic Rice Conference, as an official guest of the National Interprofessional Organization of Greek Rice (EDOREL).
His speech, entitled “Ecodevelopment’s fertilization advisory in rice farming – impact and perspectives”, will focus on the following topics:
- The contribution of Ecodevelopment in introducing precision agriculture methods in the country’s rice farming,
- The results of the applications in terms of increasing production and generally improving yields, protecting habitats and rationalising farm management; and,
- The prospects for wider adoption of precision farming in the near future.
This inter-professional meeting on rice, fifteen days after the end of AGROTICA, is an important event, as it concerns the most mechanised crop in the country and even in ecologically sensitive areas, while bringing together all the rice farmers and other players in the sector from rice mills, processing, trade and agricultural inputs.
