Ecodevelopment S.A. continues to strengthen its position in the field of research and development, receiving the European Commission’s prestigious Seal of Excellence for its proposal titled International Integrated Response Using Artificial Intelligence for Monitoring and Networking Regarding Vector-Borne Diseases (GUARDIAN) under the HORIZON-WIDERA-2025-02 call of the Horizon Europe program.
The Seal of Excellence is a mark of high quality from the European Commission and is awarded to proposals that are positively evaluated but not funded due to limited resources. This distinction confirms the scientific excellence, strategic importance, and innovative nature of the proposed GUARDIAN project.
This distinction takes on particular significance when considering the high level of competition in a call open to all scientific fields. Overall, the success rate for the call was 4%, with a total of 1,083 proposals submitted. Ecodevelopment’s proposal received a very high score of 13.33/15, and was thus awarded the Seal of Excellence.
This is the third consecutive distinction with this Seal of Excellence, following a similar recent award in 2023 for the INTERSECT proposal (coordinated by Ecodevelopment on behalf of 22 partners from 9 European countries), represents a significant distinction for Ecodevelopment. Congratulations are due to the R&D department and especially to its Director, Sandra Gewehr, who, in collaboration with Mr. Theologos Prokopiou (CEO of i4G and Technical Advisor to Oikoanaptyxi) and Dr. Joacim Rocklov, Professor at the University of Heidelberg, as a subcontractor for the proposed project, successfully completed the endeavor.
