XIth EMCA Conference- Parallel session: Best Practices

A round table on best practices for mosquito control in the built environment was organised in the framework of the ΧΙth EMCA conference, chaired by Florence Fouque (TDR, WHO, Geneva) and with the participation of four members of the EMCA board.

The following topics were discussed by the five participants:

1. Why are best practices for mosquito control needed? – F. Fouque (TDR, WHO Geneva)
2. What does the EMCA do for the elaboration of best practices? – S. Gewehr (Ecodevelopment,)
3. Conventional mosquito control and biocides regulation – what effect does it have on best practices? – A. Drago (Entostudio, Italy)
4. New technologies for mosquito control in Europe – how far are we from practical /wide-area implementation? – R. Bueno-Mari (Lokimica, Spain)
5. How to implement the best practices for mosquito control in Europe? – S. Mourelatos (Ecodevelopment, Greece)

After the closing of the conference, two workshops of the experts involved in the development of the manual of best practices for mosquito control in the built environment were held.
