Results of the evaluation of research proposals RESEARCH – INNOVATION 2021-2027 Intervention 1

The results of the evaluation of the research proposals submitted by private companies in the framework of Intervention I of the RESEARCH – INNOVATION 2021-2027 program by the Special Service for the Management and Implementation of Actions in the Fields of Research and Innovation were announced on Friday 28/11/25. It should be noted that it is the main national funding framework in relation to research, activated every seven years.

The eight themes covered are as follows: 1. Materials, Construction & Industry, 2. Tourism, Culture & Creative Industries, 3. Agri-Food Chain, 4. Environment & Circular Economy, 5. Life Sciences, Health, Pharmaceuticals, 6. Transport & Supply Chain, 7. Sustainable Energy, 8. Digital Technologies.

A total of 427 proposals were submitted and examined: one hundred and thirty-three (133) proposals were approved out of the eight above topics, with the participation of 200 companies.

Ecodevelopment had submitted, as the sole beneficiary, a proposal on the “Development of an innovative operational guidance system for projects to control vector-borne diseases by integrating knowledge from large volume data (field, Internet of Things, open-source data)”, with a three-year duration, amounting to 786,000 euros, in Sector 5 – Life Sciences, Health, Pharmaceuticals. This proposal of Ecodevelopment received the maximum score out of a total of 133 approved proposals and will soon proceed to the signing of the relevant contract.

Following the 1st European Innovation Council (EIC) Prize for Early Warning for Epidemics awarded to the EYWA Consortium in January 2022, Ecodevelopment being a core partner of this Consortium, this ranking is an important reward for Ecodevelopment’s progress so far in relation to research and technology.
