Since 1996 we are pioneers at the implementation of wide – area mosquito control projects and we continue to innovate.
Dr. Spiros Mourelatos gave an interview to journalist Lela Kesidou and the show “Voices behind the Mask” of 102fm on Monday October 2nd, regarding the risk of West Nile virus outbreaks in the Region of Thessaly, following the recent devastating weather phenomena.
In his interview, he stressed, among other things, the difference between the flooding mosquito Aedes caspius (whose populations are recording up to 20-fold increase, but which is not involved in the transmission of diseases such as West Nile virus and malaria), and Culex pipiens, which is involved in the transmission of West Nile virus, and the
the seasonal cycle of that mosquito, which does not thrive in October and November.
