Dr. Christos Karydas, Director of Precision Agriculture of Ecodevelopment, presented the precision fertilization method that the company has been developing since 2016 and is now being used by Greek rice farmers on about 5,000 acres, as part of an educational demonstration activity at the 14th Educational Seminar on Earth Observation of the European Space Agency (#ESALTC2025, ESA).
On October 1st, 2025, fifty participants had the opportunity to learn about precision farming practices in general and become familiar with modern agricultural equipment, as presented by Mr. Karydas and Mr. Kostas Kravvas.
The event was an important opportunity to exchange knowledge and highlight the contribution of the products and services offered by the European Space Agency to the general public in the context of the transition to more sustainable agriculture.
This seminar is held every year in a different country, and this year it took place at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, co-organized by the European Space Agency (ESA) and the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki’s Center for Interdisciplinary Research and Innovation (CIRI-AUTH).
